My Story

I do what I do based on my personal experience. Here’s why.
 

My journey to becoming a Movement and Mobility Specialist started when I fractured my femur in a high school football preseason scrimmage. I ended up in a bent knee cast for 6 weeks and never received any physical therapy after my cast was removed. I didn’t trust the strength in my leg. And I never ended up playing organized sports again.

I believe you shouldn’t give up on your athletic aspirations because of injury. But I was under the impression once you had a major injury you were done for good.

This experience led me down the path to wanting to become a physical therapist.

I attended Central Michigan University, where I pursued my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. I was dead set on becoming a physical therapist until I discovered a friend in my major was going to school to become a chiropractor. 

At this time, I didn’t know what a chiropractor actually did. I quickly learned chiros and PTs were quite similar for various reasons and within a matter of weeks, I  changed career paths to pursue chiropractic.

I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University, near St. Louis, MO. There, I was the first recipient of the Founder’s Scholarship: a full-tuition-paid scholarship for my academic success. I made the President’s List every term, and was the valedictorian of my class.

Although I had academic success in school, I quickly learned that I didn’t have the tools needed to become the skilled clinician I aspired to be.
 
To advance my skills, I accumulated 1000+ hours of post-graduate courses. The skillsets I learned through the Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (McKenzie Method), Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), Functional Range Release (FR), Rehab2Performance (R2P), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and many more, guided me to becoming a specialized chiropractor with the additional skill sets of a physical therapist.

There aren’t enough stars for the to convey what Dr Mitch has done for me I’ve been dealing with back and neck issues after surgeries. His daily stretches have made a painful life more bearable. My life is with constant pain even with a pain pump. The stretches are working. Everyday my posture is getting better. I look forward to opening my email to find a new video of targeted stretching. I can access mani videos Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Most of all Dr Mitch has given me hope.

This program was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve followed Dr. Mitch’s exercises/ stretches on Instagram for a while and they were great. Having something tailored directly to my issues completely took it over the top, this is not your same old “do these same stretches continuously, everyday” type of program, he mixes it up and really makes it easy for you. If you have nagging old injuries from playing sports, I HIGHLY recommend giving Dr. Mitch a shot.

Dr Mitch does a great job customizing stretches and exercises to help your individual needs. He put together some stretches to help strengthen my low back and core, I have noticed quite a bit of difference. I love that if you have a question or concern, there is a spot in the app and Dr Mitch will respond back. It is such an easy app and I love the videos to show exactly how to do each stretch. I see Dr Mitch as my chiropractor as well and he is such a personable, understanding, and nice guy who really wants to help each of his patients. Highly recommend!!

The mobility program helped my upper back tightness and helped increase the mobility in my hips!! The exercises are simple enough to do without equipment/minimal equipment, but also tough enough that I feel like I am really working and stretching my muscles. The app is really easy to use, I think anyone could do it!

The importance of mobility and functional movement is becoming more evident to me the older I get. Often times I wake up in the morning feeling like I must have slept wrong or that I need a few minutes of stretching to feel at a baseline, but it’s hard to find the time. The targeted specificity of the program makes you feel like you are being as efficient as possible while still optimizing mobility. The fact that it is customized to exactly what you want to target makes it feel like it is a great use of limited time (5-10 minutes). I found the exercises simple, easy to follow and very effective at “waking up” my body and working out some every day stiffness and soreness. Mitch is knowledgeable & very quick to respond to any questions or feedback and is able to make adjustments easily to the program. I definitely can feel it on days when I don’t make the time to go through the routine, and I feel so much better when I do! Whether you’re trying to ease daily aches and pains or prepare yourself for a tough workout, this program is definitely worth a try!

Dr. Mitch created a very easy to follow stretching program for the pain I have been having in my neck. Super easy to follow on PhysiApp. My pain has decreased since I started, but I know it’s going to take time to fully heal so I look forward to getting more programs!
